On Friday 23rd July, I saw the Tokyo 2020 Olympics opening ceremony on TV. In the ceremony they introduced the Emperor of Japan, His Highness Hironomiya Naruhito and the Organizing Committee President. Then four people in army attire held the flag upwards and took it to a flag pole and slowly raised it while the Japanese national anthem played. After that they showed some dance performances. Then every body moved aside because it was time for the parade of athletes representing their countries. They came in alphabetical order of Japanese language. There were two flag bearers for each country walking with their flag while others waved hands to the audience. After a while one athlete raised the Olympic torch and handed it over to another athlete. Finally to a tennis star, Naomi Osaka who then went up a round ball that opened up a stair case and she lit the Olympic cauldron. Because of the light of the flame the entire stadium looked bright as if the sun returned in the night to witness the show.

But the part that was very interesting to me was micro bots making the shape of earth.

This was my first time seeing the Olympics opening ceremony. This will stay in my mind forever. In 2024 the Olympics is going to be held in Paris, France and I hope the pandemic would be over by then and I would get to see it in real life.
