Crenshaw: Book Review
Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate is an amazing book that touches your heart. Crenshaw is a book about a boy named Jackson and his imaginary friend, a cat named Crenshaw. His family is poor and barely has their basic needs met. He wants to change his family’s situation and wishes his parents to openly express the problems and issues they face. Would Jackson take the help of an imaginary friend to solve the issue at hand? Would a cat be enough to help Jackson?
My Favorite Part
My favorite part is that by the end of the story, Jackson and his parents are able to understand each other's feelings and support each other. I love Jackson and his sister- Robin’s way of bonding. When Robin is scared to sleep at night, Jackson, without disturbing his parents reads Robin’s favorite book. I like their messy and adorable dog Aretha especially because she can see Crenshaw too.
Lesson Learnt
I learned to be happy with what we have. Sometimes it is not needed to know the facts.
Recommendations
I recommend this book to those who believe and have hope. Also recommend this book to those who have imaginary friends and to those who care that some people in this world need some help.
